Location: Ajax, ON

Hours: Mondays to Thursdays: 8am to 4:30pm; Fridays: 7:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Employment Type: Temporary/Full-time

Pay Rate: $40.00/hour

Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a skilled Buyer to join our client's organization in Ajax, ON. As a Buyer, you will be responsible for coordinating material deliveries, negotiating with suppliers, and maintaining procurement records. This is a Contract/Temp role with a competitive salary of $40 per hour.

Detailed :

• Actively manage supplier performance and maintain a roster of available supply sources.
• Communicate with suppliers to obtain product information, including price, availability, and delivery schedule.
• Evaluate defective or unacceptable goods or services, working with inspection or quality control teams and vendors to identify and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Planning, and Production teams to communicate changes in production requirements to suppliers.
• Support department metrics and goals.
• Conduct basic negotiation and administration of agreements with suppliers within your authority.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with internal customers, partners, and suppliers.
• Schedule and track material deliveries based on production requirements.
• Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other data to determine reasonable prices.
• Estimate values based on market prices.
• Maintain procurement records, including purchase details, costs, delivery information, product quality, and inventory.
• Prepare purchase orders and bid requests.
• Enter purchase orders into the MRP system and transmit them to suppliers via internet fax or email.
• Coordinate with planners to control part scheduling and ensure stock levels meet demand while meeting financial targets.
• Monitor purchase order status, follow up on unconfirmed and past due orders, and track upcoming requirements.
• Provide suppliers with engineering changes and updated drawings.
• Resolve claims and complaints related to purchase orders or contracts, escalating issues as necessary.
• Expedite the delivery of goods to end-users.
• Approve invoices for payment within your authority.

Candidate's Profile:

• Possesses knowledge and skills acquired through formal training or extensive work experience.
• Works under established procedures with moderate supervision.
• Entry-level position suitable for individuals with relevant work experience.
• 3-6 years of experience in purchasing.
• Can identify problems and assess relevant issues in straightforward situations, making sound decisions using standard procedures.
• Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
