We are looking for a results-oriented individual who can bring their strong strategic and analytical skills to this exciting role. As a buyer, you will provide oversight and implement procurement strategies to support growing needs of our organization. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively across all levels and areas of the organization in a dynamic, fast- paced and growing environment.

Transit Design Group (TDG) has been presenting innovative lighting solutions to the rail and public transportation industries since 1989. We are leaders in building complete lighting systems for locomotive and rail passenger vehicles, inside and out. This includes light rail and commuter rail. We also specialize in LED innovations, continually introducing new technology which then becomes the industry norm.
You will use your expertise to:
- Manage open purchase orders including on-time delivery and expediting when needed.
- Escalate supply issues in a timely manner.
- Monitor changes in the supply base and proactively manage potential impact on future supply
- Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders of raw materials, supplies, services, and plant equipment.
- Build relationships and monitor supplier performance to ensure processes and/or capability align with the organizations needs.
- Liaise with Sales and Project Management where supply issues may affect on time delivery to the customer.
What we are looking for:
- Well organized and able to balance multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
- Results-oriented mindset and demonstrated ability to evaluate information from multiple sources to drive data-driven decision-making.
- Superior analytical skills and ability develop recommendations and strategic solutions from data/information.
- 2+ years’ experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain.
- Knowledge of procurement processes and experience with procurement systems, data, and analytics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Self-motivated while still working within a team environment.
- Post-secondary degree in business administration, commerce, or economics, preferably with a specialization in Procurement / Supply Chain Management.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
