Job Title: Senior Buyer

Position: Permanent full-time

Shift: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm

Salary: $65-80K

Our exclusive client a leader in automotive manufacturing industry is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Buyer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in purchasing fundamentals with a focus on manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct analyses comparing the costs and benefits of capital payback lease-versus-buy and make-versus-buy decisions.
• Support the company's goals and objectives by assisting in the creation and execution of strategic and operational plans for procuring goods and services.
• Represent the Purchasing department in Cross-Functional Teams (CFTs) such as new product launches and Advanced Quality Planning, and facilitate the APQP process by issuing pre-production releases to suppliers.
• Target and implement cost reduction programs through individual and departmental goals.
• Manage and monitor supplier performance to optimize the supply chain.
• Monitor and collect market intelligence to ensure the availability of up-to-date information on products, prices, suppliers, trends, etc. in the market, and provide guidance to potential users.
• Take responsibility for issuing Request for Quotes and recommending sourcing options.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies and procedures aimed at improving business process flow and maximizing the capabilities of the MRP system.
• Support the Quality Department in addressing material issues.
• Perform all job functions in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a safe working environment.
• Negotiate the best value for goods and services.
• Engage in negotiations with suppliers of Tooling, Capital Equipment, and Checking Fixtures to reduce costs and improve quality, reviewing and approving Purchase Orders based on price, terms, quantity, authorization, and other criteria.
• Foster effective teamwork and collaboration with internal and external organizations.
• Provide backup and assistance to other members of the Purchasing Department, including the Purchasing Manager.
• Provide support to the Sales Department for new business opportunities.
• Continuously evaluate the market competitiveness of our products for both Direct Buy and MRO purchases in terms of price, quality, and technology.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with Suppliers.

Education:

• Minimum completion of College diploma in Business Administration or related field

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of equivalent work experience

• Computer literate Microsoft Office programs
