Buyer/Planner Jobs

Responsible for driving continuous improvement within the supply chain including: inbound/outbound fill rate; forecast accuracy, inventory productivity; out of date expense; demand planning for promotional events; and inbound supply chain efficiency. Perform inventory analysis and management to avoid low stock, overstock, and obsolete inventory through data analysis. Define and maintain internal supply chain policies and planning parameters to deliver results that meet or exceed established targets.

Responsibilities:

• Continuously assess the cost and quality of goods that are received and shipped.
• Purchase materials and supplies at the most favorable terms for the organization. Qualify vendors and negotiate prices and terms for purchased goods and services. Track purchases, monitor vendor quality, and maintain a current database of vendor information. Successfully manage vendor relationships and create harmonious partnerships with suppliers.
• Develop initiatives to reduce slow moving inventories to reduce/eliminate outdated product and improve inventory turns. Develop and monitor purchasing planning parameters to maintain high levels of fulfillment and turns, while maintaining customer service levels and company inventory.
• Support the Operating Manager in the day to day Supply Chain tasks, such as vendor contract formulating, quality audits, SKU specs for vendors and internal use, etc.
• Maintain inventory forecasts and ensure accurate data and item set-up for SAP.
• Interface with Sales and Marketing to receive and apply latest forecasting data into SAP, and self-analyze sales forecast deviations and update master data to ensure most accurate forecasts are applied.

Qualifications:

• Highly organized and focused, thinks and acts decisively.
• Project management skills, with strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
• 5+ years of experience in a similar purchasing role, working with warehousing/manufacturing (Jansan industry preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• ERP experience required (SAP preferred)
• Ability to interpret analytical data for decision making. Strong forecasting and mathematical skills.
