Accountabilities

:

Insurance Program Support (30%):

• Maintain inventory data for insurance
• Process Certificates of Insurance
• Maintain location details for insurance and claims
• Verify third party insurance coverage is in compliance with associated Agreements
• Receive and share monthly GT908 inventory values report
• Maintain New Store Premium Allocation worksheets and inform Finance of premium charges

Claims Handling (70%):

• Assist Customer Service with minor customer complaints – assess ‘liability’ and recommend responses.
• Record all payments on payment log, Accrual Worksheet and in OPTIC.
• Request payments quickly and accurately.
• Recognize opportunities to mitigate or transfer liability in each claim scenario
• Reconcile Allocations with Finance, to ensure accuracy periodically throughout year
• Assist with drafting Final Releases.
• Allocate Store and HO deductibles per occurrence
• Strategize claim handling
• Manage outgoing cheques
• Recommend settlements on claims below deductible
• Assist in loss recovery from at-fault third parties (subrogation) on behalf of stores.
• Obtain relevant CCTV footage of incidents/claims.
• Liaise between stores, internal departments, Adjusting firm, Insurer and Legal Defence, to ensure comprehensive collection of evidence to substantiate claims
• Assess incoming incidents for monetary severity
• Maintain Accruals worksheets
• Ensure content-accuracy of various claims databases

Knowledge And Skills

• English and French communication
• Must have insurance adjusting or claims handling experience
