Job Description

Lambton College is actively seeking a collaborative and versatile leader to serve as their inaugural Campus Director, Lambton Ottawa to lead a multi-faceted portfolio of responsibilities. The new Campus Director will play a vital role in leading the launch and ongoing operations of the College’s new campus in Ottawa.


The New Campus – Lambton Ottawa

Lambton College has established a public-to-public collaboration with Ottawa-based Saint Paul University (SPU) and will see the College leasing space on SPU’s campus to deliver international graduate certificate programs through the College’s Centre for Graduate Studies. This new development will build on Lambton College’s post-graduate portfolio, which has a strong brand representation internationally and delivers on the need to diversify and expand program offerings outside of the Sarnia catchment area. It is an opportunity for Lambton College to provide a robust, supportive, academically strong student experience in a vibrant international education market, while contributing to the long-term financial stability of the College. The Role

Reporting to the Senior Dean – Centre for Global Engagement, the Campus Director is a member of the Administrative Team and is primarily responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Lambton in Ottawa Campus and is accountable and responsible for planning, development, and operational leadership. The Campus Director is responsible for seamlessly leading the campus’ operation and the ongoing delivery of programs and support services, as well as the management of direct-line projects, programs and ancillary services. The Director is also responsible for ensuring that Lambton College is in compliance with the lease requirements of the space and liaises with the administration of the Saint Paul University leadership to address any concerns or questions they may have about our operations.


In addition, the incumbent has first-line responsibilities in student matters: student appeal and complaint processes and student conduct. The Campus Director works collaboratively in developing and implementing the campus’ annual operational plan as part of Lambton College’s strategic planning process. The Campus Director develops and maintains relationships with key community stakeholders, represents Lambton in the community, and provides strategic input on potential program offerings relevant to local needs.


The Ideal Candidate Profile

As the ideal candidate, you have a Master’s degree in business, information technology, education, project management, engineering or another related field, and you have at least 7 years of related work experience including managerial, entrepreneurial and/or leadership experience. You have strengths in planning and evaluation, strategic resources allocation, and human resource management. You are entrepreneurial in your approach and are able to find creative ways to maximize resources and achieve goals, while supporting your team. As a strong operational leader, you are able to effectively lead, direct, and make decisions that align with the College’s mission, context and resources. You have a creative style of administration that shows initiative and commitment to problem-discernment and problem-solving.


You have a demonstrated ability to foster a collegial environment, and have excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. You value relationships within, across, and outside the organization and actively build and maintain relationships that support the College’s goals. As a student-focused professional, you are able to bring energy and care to your interaction with students, while employing a strategic approach to improving student experiences. You have an appreciation for the needs of diverse, international learners, and the importance of including cultural understanding and diversity and equity principles in the educational environment.
