Business Intelligence Architect Jobs

As a Senior Decision Advisor, you will play a crucial role in using hospital data to drive decisions and tackle complex business questions in collaboration with clinical leaders.

Reporting jointly to the Director of Decision Support and the Manager of Decision Support, and working closely with the Vice President of Performance and Business Intelligence, you will be responsible for a wide range of critical tasks:

• Supporting capacity planning analyses and corporate strategy planning initiatives.
• Providing guidance, direction, and modeling data solutions in EPIC, SSRS, Power BI, and data warehousing.
• Gathering requirements and collaborating with the Business Intelligence team to develop and maintain automated dashboards, metric reports, and data visualizations.
• Conducting database mining and statistical analyses using tools such as SAS, SPSS, or other analytical platforms.
• Designing and implementing a hospital-wide balanced scorecard and integrated operational dashboards, including finance, clinical, people, and patient experience reporting.
• Providing technical direction, quality control oversight, expertise, and review to ensure seamless integration of all Decision Support projects, both current and planned, while adhering to BI team standards.
• Leveraging your technical expertise and project management skills to deliver complex solutions effectively.
• Experience with the EPIC health information system and/or EPIC reporting software is a must.
• Leading corporate pandemic recovery analyses and addressing data requests related to the pandemic.
• Taking a leadership role in automation, data visualization, and promoting data access and literacy.
• Leading the planning, development, and maintenance of tools that facilitate business analysis and decision-making, such as Power BI productionized reports, POP, and the Critical Occupancy Board.

Qualifications

• Strong critical thinking skills, enabling you to analyze complex situations, grasp the bigger picture, and translate conceptual frameworks into actionable terms.
• Extensive knowledge of data modeling, SSRS, SSAS, Tabular Models/Cubes, SQL Server, Microsoft Office, and advanced SQL scripting.
• Demonstrated experience in managing and leading large projects or processes with limited oversight from a manager.
• Familiarity with upgrading Business Intelligence solutions to keep pace with the latest Microsoft product releases.
• Ability to effectively translate technical metrics into meaningful business KPIs, serving as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders within the organization.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and team-building skills, with a track record of modeling positive change within teams and departments.
• Proven experience in designing and building interactive dashboards using Power BI and/or Tableau.
• Experience coaching, reviewing, and delegating work to lower-level professionals, fostering their growth and development.
• 8-10 years of experience in Business Intelligence, specifically with expertise in Power BI and Tableau.
• Ability to work independently, taking ownership of projects and driving them to completion.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Health Informatics, or a related field, along with relevant work experience.
• Healthcare experience with Epic Systems is a must.
• Previous experience in financial reporting and real-time analytics is considered an asset.
