Job Description
Pacific Coastal Airlines is seeking a permanent full time Base Supervisor based in Prince George, British Columbia. We are seeking a candidate who is looking to enjoy a family-oriented, dynamic and rewarding work environment. Pacific Coastal Airlines is headquartered at the South Terminal building at Vancouver International Airport. We fly scheduled and charter service between busy international airports, remote destinations, and beautiful communities in the province of British Columbia and Southern Alberta.


Base Supervisor is a functional leadership position responsible for providing supervision, direction training and support to all Airports Agents at the Prince George base. The successful individual will be expected to role model behaviors that respect the corporate values, professionalism, diversity and service excellence to our internal and external customers.


Job Responsibilities


  • Prepare daily work schedules, ensure adequate and efficient staffing
  • Build a strong, competent and cohesive team of employees that are motivated to support the Company's vision and uphold and reflect positively on the Company's values
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Actively participate in Base Supervisor team meetings
  • Approve timesheets and authorize overtime hours according to standards
  • Foster and maintain a culture that is respectful, supportive and engaging
  • Ensure that all airports employees are provided with adequate training, currency checks and daily communication support
  • Provide leadership, training and performance management to all team members
  • Monitor and audit all areas of the base operations to ensure compliance with all published standards and regulatory requirements
  • Develop/ implement appropriate corrective action plans to resolve operational audit findings with the goal to improve the departments overall safety, increase operational effectiveness and reduce operational costs
  • Support an active working relationship with airport authority and attend airport operations meetings as applicable
  • Ensure all ground operations are conducted in a structured, organized, efficient fashion, without sacrificing public safety, or the quality standards
  • Resolve business and human relations problems or grievances in consultation with Employee Services and Senior Manager, Pacific Coastal Airport Operations.
  • Support facilitating monthly scheduling
  • Identify, address and support employee performance in a timely manner and engage in effective progressive discipline as necessary

Qualifications And Competencies


  • Flexible to work weekends, evenings, holidays and/or irregular shifts/overtime as the operation demands
  • Education: Minimum of High School Graduation
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain designated security clearance
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a airports and/or customer service environment
  • Clear and effective communication skills with demonstrated ability to have difficult conversations maintaining dignity and confidentiality
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computers and recent experience using Windows-based software
  • Minimum of two years' experience in supervisory or management role
  • Ability to work in a time-sensitive, ever changing environment where multitasking and problem solving are key attributes
  • Aviation/airline operations experience is a very strong asset
  • Proven history time management and organizational excellence
