Job Summary

The Ministry of Health has overall responsibility for ensuring that quality, appropriate, cost-effective, and timely health services are available to all British Columbians.


Hospital and Provincial Health Services (HPHS) Division leads service transformation across the health sector. Bringing together key mandated initiatives and specialized services for priority populations to add enhanced value and focus for health sector areas requiring substantive change. HPHS is responsible for core service/policy development for specialized services namely wait times, surgical services, diagnostic imaging, specialized provincial services, acute care, quality care, and Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD).


The position supports the development of the service plan, coordinates issues management, leads projects, oversees divisional administrative staff and manages Executive communications and finances.


Job Requirements


  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a senior administrative role.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience dealing with highly confidential and sensitive issues.
  • Completion of relevant post-secondary training (i.e. HR, Business Operations, Project Management, Communications, etc).
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

This position is located in Victoria, BC.


Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.


Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
