Job Summary

We are seeking to hire an Associate for the Canadian Corporate Banking Department 1. The primary objective of this position is to drive growth by developing and implementing various initiatives. The Associate will be responsible for identifying opportunities for new businesses, acquisitions, and investments within the Japanese and Asian-oriented entities of the Canadian Corporate Banking department. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to drive successful outcomes. The Associate will play a crucial role in expanding the bank's presence in the targeted market segments and contributing to the overall growth and success of the Canadian Corporate Banking department.

Key Responsibilities

• The Associate is expected to consider correct and efficient operations for entire branch.
• Analyze, review and approve or reject credit applications.
• Liaise with other Mizuho offices to maintain/develop business with customers for All Mizuho.
• Maintain a close relationship with existing customers.
• Develop a strategy for increasing the Bank’s customer base in the area of the subsidiaries of Japanese and Asian companies.
• The Associate is expected to instruct customer’s business requests to other departments in adequate way to prevent misunderstandings and operation errors.
• Contribution to JNAB (Japanese North American Banking) business promotion.
• Conduct specific reviews of industries to analyze trends and problems.
• Promote the Bank's business opportunities to the customers throughout Canada, including the areas of loans, FX, deposit, settlements and derivatives business.

Required Skills

The successful candidate must have:

• Strong organizational skills including the ability to multi-task and manage deadlines effectively
• Experience with Japanese Banking
• Strong knowledge of banking products, credit analysis, risk assessment, financial forecasting, and financial regulations
• Strong market and liquidity evaluation and analytical skills
• Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis
• 4+ years of work experience in banking, credit management, or a related field
• Fully proficient with MS Excel, Word, Access
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills

Required Education

• A university degree in business administration, commerce, economics or a related field

Benefits

• The Bank may, at its sole discretion, provide an annual Bonus payment based on the performance of the Bank, departmental performance, and the individual performance in achieving their goals as set by them and their Manager. Bonus is prorated based on 20-40% of annual salary.
