Heli-One Canada is looking for experienced ACS or Transport Canada AME S rated Engineer to fill a position at our Borden Ontario location. This role will be responsible for maintenance to airworthy standards, inspecting and releasing maintenance. Preference will be given to candidates that have the following helicopter experience.

Successful candidates must be able to function well in a team environment.


  • Good physical condition
  • Military ACS training on helicopters
  • Valid Transport Canada AME “S” Type license
  • Ensure operating and maintenance procedures comply with industry and internal regulations and quality standards
  • Frequently operates dangerous machineries requiring safety equipment such as safety eyeglasses, hearing protectors, work boots and hard hats
  • Constantly exposed to noise, fumes, gas, chemicals, dust or dirt
  • Results oriented with a focus on quality
  • Occasionally exposed to extreme temperature or humidity
  • Perform airframe inspections
  • Assist in instruction and training of apprentices
  • Troubleshoot issues and develop actions to rectify them
  • Computer literate
  • Maintain accurate statement of maintenance history of the aircraft
  • Works on shop floor involving frequent lifting of materials up to 30 lbs
  • Must have the legal right to live and work in Canada
  • Record problems and actions taken
  • Ability to take direction and follow instructions
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Minimum 3 years’ Structures experience
  • Knowledge of aviation standards
  • Efficient in the use of electronic or paper based manuals and able to navigate through vendor data to find necessary information
  • Interpret technical manuals, drawing and blueprints
  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to process complex systems and logically think through problems

The Structures Technician is responsible for assessing damage and corrosion of aircraft structures; repairing, replacing and modifying sheet metal or composite structures.


  • Work shifts /weekends as required. International travel may be required
  • Positions and aligns subassemblies in jigs or fixtures, using measuring instruments, following blueprint lines and index points
  • Follows approved repair/modification procedures for component or aircraft, consulting internal procedures that have been TC approved, original equipment manufacturers (OEM’s) technical data, and work package instructions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Performs serviceability tests on repairs using test equipment specified in technical manuals.
  • Drills holes in structure and subassemblies, and attaches brackets, hinges, or clips to secure installation or to fasten subassemblies. Inspects and tests installed units, parts, and equipment for fit, performance, and compliance with standards, using measuring instruments and test equipment.
  • Locates and marks reference points and holes for installation of parts and components, using jigs, templates, and measuring instruments
  • Bolts, screws, or rivets accessories to fasten, support, or hang components and subassemblies. Cuts, trims, files parts, and verifies fitting tolerances to prepare for installation.
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Completes work package documentation by signing/stamping off after finishing all designated operations
  • Maintain and instill hangar housekeeping policies for area of responsibility.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment
  • Proven track record of attendance
  • Installs units, parts, equipment, and components in structural assembly, according to blueprints and specifications, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Inspects completed work to identify any needed rework before signing off; ensures that repaired components meet prescribed standards and tolerances.
  • College certificate (in Aviation) or equivalent schooling from a Ministry of Transport approved school
  • Ability to deal with multiple concurrent requirements, ambiguity and demanding situations
  • Self-motivated and strong work ethic
  • Ability to process complex systems and logically think through problems
