Job Description

All referred applicants must first be submitted through Workday by a current Loblaw Colleague.

Come make your difference in communities across Canada, where authenticity, trust and making connections is valued – as we shape the future of Canadian retail, together. Our unique position as one of the country's largest employers, coupled with our commitment to positively impact the lives of all Canadians, provides our colleagues a range of opportunities and experiences to help Canadians Live Life Well®.

At Loblaw Companies Limited, we succeed through collaboration and commitment and set a high bar for ourselves and those around us. Whether you are just starting your career, re-entering the workforce, or looking for a new job, this is where you belong.

As part of Canada’s leading grocery and pharma retailer, we are building one of the nation’s most exciting media companies. With more than 2400 stores nationwide, some of Canada’s top digital retail platforms, and one of the country’s leading loyalty program (PC Optimum), Loblaw Media has a unique set of assets to help consumer brands more effectively reach customers who will love their products. We are a fast-growing team working to combine the power of the loyalty program, our unique data insights, and our retail channels to shape powerful omnichannel marketing and measurement solutions for brands.

At Loblaw Media, we seek great people looking for that unique opportunity to help shape the future of a growing business. We believe great people model our values -- are authentic, build trust, and make connections. We’re able to keep innovating because our colleagues are passionate about their work and excited about the future of media. You will get to work with some of the best minds in the industry and will have the support of world-class technologies to craft products our customers will love. Come be part of the media revolution happening in Canada!

The impact you'll make

As an Ad Platforms Analytics Specialist, you will join Loblaw Media’s team to work with client account and advertising analytics teams to maximize client potential in our self-serve platforms. You will review client campaign setups and reporting dashboards in the platform to assess opportunities to improve performance KPIs. You will also build and leverage additional datasets and visualizations to support analysis and decision making on strategy and tactics for improvement. Data storytelling will be paramount as you communicate campaign statuses and optimization recommendations. Note: this is not a vendor facing role, you will be working internally with the teams owning the vendor relationships.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist in the development of best practice documentation, case studies and data science research that will help clients make the best out of our platforms
  • Work cross functionally with Client Services to align on best practices for campaign optimization
  • Be the subject matter expert for measurement methodologies in our platforms and educate clients on how to leverage our powerful reporting suite
  • Define and run reporting support for clients on our proprietary DSP and sponsored search platforms by pulling results and adding expert analysis
  • Bring additional value to clients by going beyond the KPIs and finding marketing insights about client products, brands, and businesses
  • Design, build, validate and maintain tools in Looker and Looker Studio to automate data extraction for client reviews on a regular cadence
  • Propose strategies and tactics to clients that improve campaign planning and optimize campaign post hoc and in-flight results

Does this sound like you?

  • 2+ years at a media agency or marketing team and expertise in digital media / marketing analytics supporting multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrate an ability to absorb and communicate a story based on data
  • Bachelor degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science or similar fields, with a quantitative focus
  • Comprehensive experience creating campaign reports and communicating results with advertisers
  • Proficient in SQL, experience with Cloud and big data sets
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools and techniques (Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, etc.).
  • Powerful business acumen, with an ability to put data in the context of a customer problem and an understanding of how to seek answers that go beyond the data.
