Overview Surveyors are responsible for measuring and mapping land, bodies of water, and other features of the earth’s surface. They use specialized equipment to measure distances, angles, and elevations, and then create detailed maps and reports. Surveyors also provide advice on land use and development, and may be involved in the construction of roads, bridges, and other structures. Detailed Job Description Surveyors are responsible for accurately measuring and mapping land, bodies of water, and other features of the earth’s surface. They use specialized equipment such as total stations, theodolites, and GPS receivers to measure distances, angles, and elevations. They then use this data to create detailed maps and reports. Surveyors also provide advice on land use and development, and may be involved in the construction of roads, bridges, and other structures.
