We are currently recruiting aConstruction Surveyorfor construction projects in Kamloops, BC . Reporting to the Superintendent and/or Foreman.

Duties/Responsibilities


Planning:


  • Review scope of work with Superintendents and determine layout requirements.
  • Ensure layout equipment and tools are always maintained and available.
  • Review blueprints and construction drawings with the Project Coordinator/Site Superintendents.


Operations:


  • Ensure work site and tools are organized and cleaned at the end of each day.
  • Responsible for all elements of layout and elevation requirements and ongoing monitoring checks.
  • Arrange for survey checks and updates at various stages of projects.
  • Document and maintain"as-builts"for submission as required.


Tracking:


  • A review site for accuracy and keeping current documentation on hand while working on the project.
  • Record and maintain all calculations and equipment; maintain and troubleshoot technical equipment.
  • Completion of daily work records, daily diary, and equipment reports as required.


Knowledge, Skills& Abilities


  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a team or alone.
  • Able to prioritize quickly.
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills (verbal and written).
  • Self-motivated.
  • Works well under pressure with strict deadlines.
  • Punctual and reliable.
  • Able to set and maintain your own schedule to meet project requirements.
  • Detail orientated.


Qualifications/Education


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • WHMIS2015 (can provide if needed).
  • Experience working on high-rise, mixed-use, commercial, and/or institutional projects considered an asset.
  • Experience with Trimble Robotic Total Station and other survey equipment and tools (Hilti, Theodolite, etc.).
  • Experience reading blueprints and construction drawings.
  • Experience with layout work preparation in AutoCAD is considered an asset.
  • Formwork carpentry experience is considered an asset.
  • Fall Protection (can provide if required).


Working Conditions


  • Exposure to hot and cold extremes. You must have appropriate gear for the weather.
  • Exposure to noise, dust and pollution.
  • Two paid 15 minutes breaks and one½-hour unpaid lunch break per day.
  • Long-term, steady, year-round work.
  • Must be able to stand, crouch, kneel, walk and climb for long periods of time.
  • Overtime for those who want it.
  • Working at heights.
