Foreman - Civil Construction

Forbes Bros. Ltd. is currently looking for an experienced Foreman - Civil Construction (full-time, permanent) to join our growing FB Bullet team based out of Surrey BC. Specializing in shallow utility construction in the lower mainland, the FB Bullet team continues to see significant growth in the region.

The Foreman- Civil Construction will be responsible for providing supervision and overseeing a team and ensuring successful planning and completion of civil construction operations. The Foreman- Civil Construction will also enforce company policies and practices during all operations by site crews while monitoring their work quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform audits of construction operations to ensure work is being completed in compliance with project specifications and monitor safe work practices
• Lives Forbes Bros. value of WE WORK SAFE & never compromising on safety in all aspects of our every day
• Provide supervision and planning in the successful completion of civil construction on projects
• Plan, direct and participate, when applicable, in day-to-day work activities to ensure that established goals and objectives are met
• Proactively manage and review the project crews and ensure they are meeting the goals and requirements of the contract
• Manage unit work or lumpsum work to ensure it is completed to client and bid specifications
• Enforce equipment maintenance schedule and advise when repairs are required
• Report on problems and the solutions to Management
• Oversee the method of construction, manpower, equipment, and material needed and quality control
• Efficiently control and monitor labor, materials, and equipment expenses
• Perform other tasks related to this function as assigned
• Enforce and ensure compliance to Health & Safety and Work practices

What We Are Looking For

• Excellent time-management and organizational skills, attention to detail, with a proven ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to lead a team of all different skill levels, lead teams by example, build consensus, actively listen, and engage crew members
• Minimum of three (3) years in the construction industry, with atleast one (1) of those years in civil construction
• Prior experience as a Lead Hand or Supervisor leading and supervising multiple crews on project sites, is strongly preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of civil construction methods, schedule and plan reading
• Able and willing to perform manual labor in varying weather conditions and environments, inclusive of heavy lifting
• Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of Pre-Access D&A testing, presenting a valid Driver's License and an acceptable five (5) drivers abstract
