Manages and supports all EHS programs; COR, ISO 450001, Flex, Subcontractor Management and Return to Work

Assist the Senior Manager, EHS in company pursuits with marketing strategies, prequalification's, bids and proposals, related to health & safety

Manages & supports training & development programs

Other duties as prescribed by the Senior Manager

Degree, Diploma or Professional Certification in H&S or related field of study preferred

A team player that accepts and can manage change regularly

Ensure subcontractors are compliant with responsibilities outlined in the Michels Canada subcontractor management policy

Assume a leadership role in worker injury resolution, modified work programs, and WCB claims management and recommend solutions where necessary;

Knowledgeable with the Michels Corporate HSE Program and the Site-Specific Safety Plan and all applicable legislation

Maintain positive and proactive relations with managers and employees, as well as our customers and regulatory agencies

Onboard and mentor all new and existing employees with health, safety and environmental responsibilities and expectations

Ensure that project first aid and emergency response resources are in place and meet regulatory requirements

Assist in creating learning aids, resources, standards, operating procedures and expectations of restaurant management and front-line roles

Coach and motivate restaurant management and front-line employees and align with the company values and competencies

Facilitate and monitor employee learning and development through SharePoint and/or Learning Management System (LMS)

Post-Secondary Education or equivalent proven and related work experience

Restaurant opening experience is an asset

Strong communication skills in English. French and Japanese are an asset

Minimum three years' experience in an operations or management role

Provide weekly feedback about the trainee progress to the Area Manager

Assist Area Managers with follow up employee training where needed

Strong verbal, listening, written communication skills required

Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, and e-mail required

Participate in weekly Management HSE Walks – disseminating reports post walk

Ensuring strict compliance with the HSE requirements

Participate in morning contractor toolbox meetings – being prepared to speak as required

Act as liaison with client (EVJV) and/or WorkSafeBC, as directed by direct report

Participate in weekly HSE walks (environmental, COVID, contractor walks) – including delegating/entering data into post-walk assessment tools, as required

Prepare and submit HSE reporting

Excellent knowledge of training methods as well as organizational change management expertise

Incorporating change management methodologies into training strategies

Excellent knowledge of Sales Processes and Skills

Working with Regional Managers to ensure training and development is thriving in situ and provide feedback and coaching to employees

Collaborating with the Regional Managers in your area to support with regional training assessment, determining needs, and new employee performance execution

Delivering training and train-the-trainers for initiative, program, product education, and cyclical training as needed

Adult Learning Certificate from a recognized and accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Minimum of 3 years progressive related Blood Transfusion experience

Demonstrated effective presentations and training skills

Demonstrated knowledge and technical competence relevant to procedures

Thorough knowledge and application of HSE legislation and compliance requirements to Barminco and the client’s safety systems.

Maintaining of records, reports and documents required to meet corporate, site and regulatory requirements.

Provide HSE mentoring to operational personnel through crew presentations, communications and knowledge sharing of learnings from incidents.

4-6 years’ relevant experience, preferably in an underground hard rock mine.

Maintain a valid Driver’s License; manual transmission experience an asset.
