Overview A Benefits Analyst is responsible for managing employee benefits programs and ensuring that they are compliant with applicable laws and regulations. They analyze and evaluate benefit plans, develop and implement new plans, and provide support to employees regarding their benefits. They also work with vendors to ensure that the plans are cost-effective and meet the needs of the organization. Detailed Job Description Benefits Analysts are responsible for managing employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement plans. They analyze and evaluate existing benefit plans, develop and implement new plans, and provide support to employees regarding their benefits. They also work with vendors to ensure that the plans are cost-effective and meet the needs of the organization. Benefits Analysts must be knowledgeable of applicable laws and regulations, such as the Affordable Care Act, and must ensure that the plans are compliant. They must also be able to communicate effectively with employees, vendors, and other stakeholders. Job Skills Required• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, such as the Affordable Care Act
• Ability to analyze and evaluate existing benefit plans
• Ability to develop and implement new plans
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees, vendors, and other stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks
• Knowledge of budgeting and cost-benefit analysis
• Knowledge of human resources and employee relations
• Knowledge of computer systems and software
Job Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
• At least 3 years of experience in benefits administration or a related field
• Professional certification in benefits administration, such as Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS)
Job Knowledge
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, such as the Affordable Care Act
• Knowledge of budgeting and cost-benefit analysis
• Knowledge of human resources and employee relations
• Knowledge of computer systems and software
Job Experience
• At least 3 years of experience in benefits administration or a related field
• Experience in developing and implementing benefit plans
• Experience in working with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness
• Experience in providing support to employees regarding their benefits
