Job Summary:
Provide 24/7 support and assistance for youth and young adults accessing Cyrus Centre’s drop-in resource centre and Youth Emergency Housing Program.
Cyrus Centre is a faith-based ministry of walking alongside youth with the mission of showing the love of God to youth and families.

Chilliwack Centre Director
Hours:
The full-time role requires shift work covering a 24-hour period and includes a schedule that rotates every two weeks as outlined below:
Monday to Thursday from 12pm – 10pm (2 weeks)
Monday to Thursday from 10pm – 6am (2 weeks)
Including statutory holidays.
Compensation:
$22.50/hour
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide support and supervision to youth accessing services within Cyrus Centre’s drop-in resource centre and Youth Emergency Housing Program
• Initiate and develop relationships with youth ages 12-24.
• Assist with goal planning and day to day activities within the centre.
• Respond to adverse behavior and provide mental, emotional and physical support to youth in crisis.
• Record and maintain necessary client information and program stats.
• Ensure controlled access to the building, including monitoring cameras.
• Act as a liaison and advocate to community resources including MCFD.
• Support, communicate, and collaborate with other Cyrus Centre staff regarding clients.
• Attend and assist with community events as needed.
Skills and Abilities:
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills that allow you to work effectively with diverse individuals in a variety of capacities.
• Knowledge of youth issues and youth services within Chilliwack.
• Able to recognize and respond to potential challenges before they may occur.
• The ability to function confidently independently and under pressure.
Qualifications:
A certificate or diploma in a human service (or related) field or the equivalent experience. Previous work in a similar environment is preferred. Experience of direct program delivery to vulnerable youth with a demonstrated working knowledge of barriers for this population is beneficial. Additionally, Emergency First Aid and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training is an asset.
This position requires the successful completion of a criminal record check.
