Excellent working knowledge of and commitment to programs and services for young people

Knowledge of positive alternative activities, and interests of the youth population

Knowledge of Mental Health Strategies in dealing with First Nation Youth

A positive role model for life and social skills; understanding of Curve Lake First Nation culture and traditional practices

Working knowledge of computer programs for administrative purposes

Supports programs that develop health, fitness, sports, arts, culture, social skills and relationships

A current and valid Food Safe Level 1 certification is an asset

Focuses on systemic planning and strategies that connect youth to the community centre and the broader community.

Builds partnerships with service providers and Indigenous service providers

Initiates, participates and provides leadership in the youth service hubs.

Regularly reports on current youth programs, services and issues.

Provide on-going case management support for up to 20 youth

Excellent report writing skills and previous statistical data collections experience.

Minimum two years’ experience working with young people experiencing homelessness and/or human trafficking.

Knowledge of community resources and systems relevant to youth homelessness and anti-human trafficking

Knowledge of adolescent developmental theory and specific issues related to street youth.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong time-management and organizational skills are essential

2 to 3 Years of experience working with at-risk youth

Event planning and organizing skills.

Facilitation skills required: development and delivery of information, orientation, and workshops.

Experience with Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet usage

Work in person and remotely

Strong interpersonal, time management, problem-solving and creativity skills.

Preferred to have at least one year of experience working with youth (ages 13-24)

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to accurately collect, manage and report data to direct supervisor for reporting purposes.

Experience in developing and maintaining community relationships and partnerships.

Management of the external environment; by supervisor’s request completing building checks and searches

Understanding of case management principles and practices and relentless engagement.

Completing intakes and supporting participants through orientation, their experiences in program and successful transition to independent living or other supportive housing

Facilitating at least two group life skill sessions monthly and providing occasional individual life skills with participants

Crisis intervention in situations of physical confrontation, medical and psychiatric emergencies, and for participants who have recently experienced trauma

Minimum two years’ experience in a shelter or transitional housing program.

University graduation or professional certification (e.g. CAPM or equivalent project management courses)

Strong planning, project management, and organizational skills

Proven project management skills with the ability to complete tasks on a timely and consistent basis

Strong prioritization, time management, and multi-tasking skills

Understanding of Facility Management and Real Estate business is considered an asset but not a requirement

Aligns transition communications to support and drive transition and overall change management activities

Assist in the day-to-day operations of the Youth Drop-in Center.

Support youth who are at risk of becoming unhoused or are unhoused and are experiencing barriers in accessing resources and services.

Excellent interpersonal communication, counseling, facilitation and conflict management skills, including a demonstrated ability to prepare accurate and comprehensive written reports.

Excellent organizational, time and general management skills.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others, enjoys the company of young people and can implement effective behavior management strategies.

Knowledge of theory, principles and best practices with respect to providing services to youth who are high risk, and their families/caregivers.

Demonstrated ability to organize and facilitate groups designed to teach a wide variety of participants – personal, family and vocational skills.

Minimum two years experience in a shelter or residential setting.
