They are looking for a professional Warehouse Supervisor to lead their shipping, receiving, and warehousing functions to ensure a smooth and efficient operation with the utmost care towards safety. As a warehouse supervisor, you will lead a team within the confines of company policies and utilize innovation and leadership skills. What you will be doing:

• Supervise shipping activities to ensure accuracy, quality packaging standards are adhered to and shipped with the appropriate carriers.
• Initiate process improvements for warehouse operations and provide technical support for distribution related issues and cross-functional testing.
• Responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy through the cycle count program.
• Monitor shortages and damaged goods.
• Lead ‘storage bin’ management activities to ensure safe and accurate storage of materials that enhance efficiency.
• Responsible for ensuring safety rules are followed, safety programs are maintained, and equipment is safe.
• Determine warehouse manpower requirements in conjunction with Assembly & Facility Manager. Develop and utilize methods to meet work schedules through efficient assignment of manpower and equipment. Recommend changes in operations to reduce costs, errors, and time involved.
• Ensure materials flow through the warehouse in an orderly and accurate fashion.
• Ensure returned goods are processed in a timely and accurate basis.
• Requisition operating supplies as necessary. Ensure warehouse equipment is maintained to an efficient level of operation and conforms to safety requirements.
• Supervise and co-ordinate activities of clerical and bargaining unit employees. Hire, terminate, and discipline as necessary.
• Supervise receiving activities including verification of receipts to manifests, packing slips, and purchase orders, and accurate recording of receipts.

The experience you bring:

• General understanding of labour relations and unionized environments is an asset.
• Assembly supervision/maintenance supervision an asset.
• A proven track record of excellent supervisory skills.
• College graduate or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Warehouse Management Systems (radio frequency usage), and carousels are definite assets.
• Minimum five years related experience.
• Post-secondary courses or experience in warehousing, shipping, and receiving.
• Superior leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
