Warehouse Team Lead
Location: Greater Sudbury, ON

Currently we have an opening for a Warehouse Team Lead. The Team Lead is responsible to perform the current role of warehouse technician while performing supervisory duties for the team. This will include scheduling coverage for all warehouses, approving holiday requests and ensuring coverage if needed, answering questions from warehouse techs on system or process issues, and being a first point of contact for IT or CWoW for system or process changes and inquiries.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Participate in customer on-call service as required.
  • Be a point of contact for system or procedural issues from the warehouse group; and if needed communicate these issues to IT or CWoW group.
  • In conjunction with the Supervisor, ensure that all warehouse technicians have acceptable coverage for their areas and that schedules are created and communicated (including holiday coverage).
  • Remain focused on safety issues and work closely with parts group management and EHS to ensure a safe working environment across the area.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned by Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Build sound relationships with the workshop team and internal and external customers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Attend quarterly meetings with Parts group management and prepare reporting if needed.
  • Work on continuous improvement to the team’s overall warehouse excellence.
  • Approve all e-time administration relating to holidays and on-call coverage.
  • Expedite urgent orders to ensure customer receives when needed.
  • Support the CWoW group as a key user for the warehouse process and communicate system changes or updates and provide training if necessary.
Environmental Health and Safety
  • Attending and participating in Environmental Health & Safety meetings. Conduct meetings when Supervisor not available.
  • Stop and correct unsafe conditions. Recommend remedial actions, use the reporting tool in EHS360 when applicable.
  • Adherence to the Sandvik Environmental, Health & Safety Policy.
  • Ensuring that reporting employees participate in Environmental, Health & Safety training, communications and adhere to daily and monthly inspections as prescribed by Supervisor.
  • Provide the resources to complete risk assessments & identifying hazards in the workplace.
  • Assisting and supporting the Environmental, Health & Safety team with incident/accident management when required.
  • Conducting Environmental, Health & Safety line-ups, meeting reviews when requested by Supervisor
What You Will Bring Along
  • Ability to work as part of an integrated, broad team.
  • Developed time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in both French and English.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lead by example.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Experience using computerized inventory management systems.
  • Ability to develop knowledge of customer business processes in relation to product rebuild.
  • Experience in mining operations is considered an asset.
  • Flexible, self-motivated with demonstrated initiative.
  • Ability to travel to and from remote sites for counts, consignment set-up and customer support.
  • Strong active listening skills.
  • Minimum of two (2) year of warehouse or inventory experience.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • High school diploma or equivalency.
