Job Description

A world class leader in Consumer Goods located in the GTA is looking for a VP of Supply Chain who will be responsible for leading the procurement process and ensuring availability of all necessary materials required to support the manufacturing process.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Generate and review MRP on a daily basis to ensure smooth material flow. Manage all sourcing proactively to ensure a solid supply chain in accordance with scheduled timelines.
  • Work directly with Production to create and manage the schedule of all customer orders, with focus on mid to long term planning.
  • Lead, coach, and direct the purchasing and replenishment activities of Purchasing team
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making. Identify data requirements for process interdependencies.
  • Negotiate & implement overall supply programs with suppliers for overall cost savings by implementation of JIT, VMI or production pull programs.
  • Performs other tactical duties as required.
  • Initiate, promote and maintain communication within the teams, emphasizing connectivity between Purchasing,
  • Planning, Sales and Demand Planning


Qualifications/Technical Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong knowledge with supply chain logistics best practices and emerging trends
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Highly analytical with track record of managing based on facts and data.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and management skills with experience leading cross functional teams
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing supply chain strategies that drive business results.


Education and Experience:

  • 10+ years progressive experience
  • Post-secondary education in Business/Supply Chain required; CSCMP designation, MBA or CA an asset.
