Our Client, a well known Developer in Ottawa is looking for a Vice President of Construction to join their thriving team in Ottawa.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with advanced experience in construction operations. The ideal candidate must also have experience with high-rise pre-construction projects and the ability to lead multi-million dollar new construction and pre-development projects.

:

• Reports to the Owner regarding the operations of the department.
• Develops relationships with consultants, contractors, vendors and evaluate their performance to ensure effective partnering relationships.
• Attracts, retains, develops, succession planning and managing the development team.
• Identifies and addresses areas of concern regarding potential liabilities and risk.
• Establishes and reports success criteria to ensure client needs are met.
• Oversees capital improvement/asset preservation programs and processes at multiple sites utilizing the right measures.
• Complies with all policies and procedures, including but not limited to ethics and business practice.
• Manages a team of project managers, site superintendents, estimators, construction managers and project coordinators on multiple projects in different locations.
• Oversees and assumes project responsibilities from pre-construction through closeout to include but not limited to consultants and professional services providers, contractor relations, constructability, team collaboration, project schedule, reports and budgets.
• Assists in training and developing the team members in the skills and understanding of firm procedures, methodology and practices expected for a successful project implementation.
• Conducts regularly scheduled meetings with project managers, assistant project managers and other team members to review general work progress, accomplishments and areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

• Experience with commercial and residential projects is an asset
• Bachelor of Engineering, Construction Management or related field
• 12+ years of experience leading full cycle development/construction projects.
• Extensive, proven positive experience effectively supervising, training, mentoring and evaluating several project managers at various levels within the organization or team
• MUST have experience with high-rise pre-construction projects
