Virtual Medical Billing Specialist

IBI Healthcare Institute is looking for a Bilingual or Non-Bilingual Medical Billing Lead (Spanish-English) with extensive billing cycle experience to join our growing team!

Duties & Responsibilities

• Post daily incoming paper and electronic insurance payments
• Obtain Supporting Documentation Regarding Insurance Follow-up
• Follow up on submitted claims/ Revenue Cycle
• Obtain Claim Status via the Telephone, Internet, and/or Fax
• Identify Contractual and Administrative Adjustments
• Billing via Electronic and Hard copy Submission
• Insurance/Provider Credentialing

Professional Requirements

• Athena EHR experience (asset)
• Familiar with Commercial and Government Payer Guidelines for creating claims
• Extensive billing cycle experience
• Must have a full understanding of insurance follow-up processes (i.e. Billing, Collections, Managed Care, Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial Practices), and well-developed interpersonal skills.
• Surgical Billing Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of two years of previous work experience as an insurance follow-up representative is required.

Skills Required

• Basic math skills
• Knowledge of EOBs, CPT & ICD-10 codes, HCFAs, UB92s, HCPCS, and authorizations/referrals
• Ability to type a minimum of 30 wpm
• Proficient with Insurance/Provider Credentialing
• Ability to perform under pressure in a calm manner
• Strong Athena - RCM, AR, HOLDs, and Leadership skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Positive attitude
• Good problem-solving skills
• A high degree of accuracy
• Reliable attendance record
• Ability to learn/stay abreast of relevant policies
