Job Description

* This role is remote with travel to head office.


On behalf of our client, we are seeking a hands on VP e-commerce who wants to take a small team of creative people and significantly grow the size of a mid-sized consumer brand in the health and nutrition space.


This brand is profitable, self-financed with a keen eye on profitable top-line growth. Lots of opportunity if investment is targeted in the right place and customer retention is put front and centre.


The ideal candidate will have both performance and brand marketing experience and be able to wear both hats.


The brand is currently predominantly an amazon focused brand in the USA. It is growing rapidly on amazon in Canada. They have aspirations to continually grow D2C while expanding wholesale and retail.


The VP will manage a small team but have the freedom and flexibility to bring in new people to help grow the brand.


This is a very fast paced, hands on environment that likes to have fun, take risks, iterate quickly and constantly deliver to their loyal customers.


Responsibilities:

  • Create, oversee and maintain our E-commerce Marketing strategy. Inclusive of all Paid, Influencer, Retention & Growth and an amazon team.
  • Forecast hiring needs for the Marketing department.
  • Drive customer acquisition growth & retention.
  • Lead data-driven marketing strategies, including the end-state vision of how we use insights to drive segmentation, targeting and consumer messaging.
  • Supervise marketing events and launches and coaching team members for continual growth.
  • Work closely with marketing and creative teams to drive actionable insight from data analysis to optimize performance.
  • Develop channel-specific reporting and set up our KPI frameworks to prioritize and allocate budget accordingly across various channels.
  • Manage external vendors & agencies.
  • Participate in the quarterly and annual planning of the company’s objectives.
  • Prepare budgets and allocate resources appropriately.
  • Operate in a social and environmentally responsible manner, continuously exploring new ways to improve day-to-day functions and their impact.


Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to promote an environment of continuous improvement and rapid growth.
  • Strong experience with large marketing budgets and spending wisely.
  • Must be highly organized and process-oriented.
  • Experience building Paid Media and online marketing teams from the ground up.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. You know how to work cross-functionally with other departments, as well as manage your own team effectively.
  • Leadership experience in E-commerce Marketing & brand marketing.
  • Strong experience managing a P&L and maintaining solid profitably even as the company grows.


  • Work from anywhere, but minimum travel once a quarter to be with the team and drive face to face interaction. This role has a competitive package and some great product perks.
