Job Description
Basic Function:


As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, the Vaccine Planning Team Specialist will support the Haldimand Norfolk Vaccine Team in the office and at immunization clinics throughout Haldimand and Norfolk counties by performing a variety of tasks relating to the planning of COVID-19 vaccination clinics across the Haldimand and Norfolk counties.


Position Description:


  • Effectively leads and engages with community and provincial stakeholders, such as the Ministry of Health, to ensure COVID-19 vaccines are delivered to the community in a timely fashion
  • Participate in the planning functions of the COVID-19 vaccine program in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team that includes, but is not limited to, nurses, health promoters, clerks, clinic supervisors and the program manager
  • Participate in the scheduling of staff and clinic sites
  • Attend meetings with the Ministry of Health to inform and initiate program planning for upcoming program demands in consultation with the program manager
  • Provides clerical support at community clinics including entering personal health information into the COVaxON medical records database, as needed
  • Provide training to other team members on tasks pertinent to the COVID-19 vaccine program to build team capacity
  • Other reasonable duties as assigned and identified by the COVID-19 Vaccine Lead
  • Provides excellent customer service


Requirements


Knowledge and Experience:


  • Post-secondary education in business/administration or health-related field
  • Two years’ related work experience considered an asset


Skills and Abilities:


  • Strong computer skills with the ability to use software such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Survey Monkey, web-based applications and program databases
  • Must be aware of safe work practices as they relate to job responsibilities and work environment and have the basic understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Experience using COVaxON will be considered an asset
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment for extended periods of time
  • Previous experience of working in a unionized environment and adhering to collective agreements is considered an asset
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to use web-based applications and technologies, such as touch screen tablets, to enter client information accurately
  • Ability to deal with the public and stakeholders courteously and effectively
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle sites
  • Ability to work days, evenings and weekends in both Haldimand and Norfolk Counties
