Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:


Reporting to the Spare Parts Supervisor, the Technical Spare Parts Coordinator is responsible for quotes, orders, customer complaints and working with internal stake holders. Work is performed with some latitude for independent judgment and is reviewed periodically to assure conformity with departmental policies and procedures.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and submit spare parts kits quotes. Estimate labor and material requirements based on engineering drawings.
  • Provide technical assistance to customers over the phone. Assist customers in finding the proper part numbers for the spares required.
  • Advise customers when orders are not being satisfied according to committed delivery date.
  • Other assignments and duties the department Manager may provide.
  • Prepare proposals for recommended and critical spare parts list.
  • Evaluate parts costs in comparison to current pricing looking for opportunities to increase margins through either cost reduction or price increases.
  • Order tracking and auditing, including expediting all purchased and manufactured parts with Purchasing/Manufacturing Dep’t as required, meeting the timely shipments of all spares orders.
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely quotes for machine spare parts.
  • Advise customer on all requirements of spares parts and parts warranty claims.
  • Enter spare parts orders into current ERP system.


SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Procure quotes from suppliers/vendors.
  • Assist service colleagues for with parts identification and requirements


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Hearing acuity required for safety reasons while on the assembly floor
  • Exposure to high noise from machines operating nearby during visits to the assembly floor
  • Most of work is done while sitting down
  • Works with computer for prolonged periods of time
  • Most work is performed in an office environment with occasional trips to the assembly floor and the warehouse.


WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:

  • This position is a position of trust and responsibility. Long working hours may be necessary on occasion in order to comply with deadlines (internal and external).
  • 100% adherence to Mpac dress code policy is mandatory
  • This position requires the employee to attend work properly groomed and dressed according to the position. Mpac attire is mandatory at all times

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Very knowledgeable in reading and understanding equipment drawings, pneumatic schematics and symbols.
  • Post-secondary education in mechanical design or millwright. Experience with packaging equipment is a definite asset.
