Job Description

The Information Technology Department has an opening for a Technical Project Manager. This position is located in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Plan budgets for equipment, resources and vendors.
  • Define project scope, deliverables and roles and responsibilities in collaboration with stakeholders, business partners and project team members.
  • Assign and monitor work of technical personnel, ensuring that project steps are in alignment with business objectives, on time and within budget.
  • Manage project related documentation like proposals, progress reports, requirements and presentations.
  • Participate in the development of cost benefit analysis, associated budgets and tracking of actual costs spent vs budget and regularly reporting on project status to management.
  • Manage stakeholder communications and approvals.
  • Build strong working relationships with business stakeholder and ensure project support and commitment
  • Plan and execute deployments, support handover of project and necessary trainings.
  • Identify, analyze, prioritize and manage project risks. Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools. Create, monitor and manage detailed project plan.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to understand client expectations and recognize and escalate issues that may affect delivery.
  • Experience in Retail Store Systems projects is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Project Management Methodology and Tools (e.g. MS Project, Visio, Agile, SDLC etc.) with knowledge of Project Management Disciplines.
  • Knowledge of process evaluation and selection of products, tools, services and infrastructure components in line with an organization's business needs.
  • 4-year degree (Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or relational functional field) and/or equivalent combination of education or work experience.
  • Ability to collaborate across various groups, build relationships and manage effectively in a matrix organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service aptitude and ability to follow through to resolve customer issues.
  • Ability to do project planning, budget estimation and management, resource planning and assessment, financial planning and risk assessment.
  • Ability to understand project planning and develop project timelines.
  • 2+ years of Project Management experience, with an Application Development or Technical Project Management background.
