Job Overview

Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently looking for a Technical Infrastructure Consultant to help play a critical role in scoping, designing, and implementing hardware configurations for our enterprise customers. In this position, you will provide technical consulting services to ensure the successful implementation and optimization of various infrastructure components, including Identity Management, Cloud Architecture, and other related areas. You will work closely with customers, project managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver robust and scalable technical solutions that meet the unique requirements of each customer.

What You’ll Do

• Maintain accurate documentation of designs, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures
• Collaborate with customers to understand their infrastructure requirements and objectives
• Provide expert guidance and consulting services to customers on Identity Management, Cloud Architecture, and other infrastructure-related areas
• Design and develop technical architectures, considering factors such as scalability, performance, security, and reliability
• Collaborate with internal teams, including project managers, engineers, and developers, to ensure successful project delivery
• Conduct regular system performance evaluations, identifying areas for improvement and proposing optimization strategies
• Assist in the implementation and deployment of infrastructure solutions, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards
• Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine the appropriate hardware configurations needed to support customer solutions
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies, trends, and industry advancements in infrastructure and hardware configurations
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues related to infrastructure components and provide timely resolutions

What You’ll Need To Succeed

We’re looking for someone who:

• Ability to work 100% remotely, or from an Applied Systems office
• Can travel up to 50% (North America)

Your experience should include some or all of the following:

• Solid understanding of security principles, including authentication, access controls, and data protection
• Strong background with creating system infrastructure and integration diagrams
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong background in IT infrastructure management, Windows Server and Database technology
• Strong knowledge of hardware configurations, server technologies, networking principles, and storage systems
• Proficiency in Identity Management solutions, such as Active Directory, LDAP, or Single Sign-On (SSO) systems
• Proven experience in infrastructure design, implementation, and consulting, preferably in a customer-facing role.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, MCSE) are a plus
• Ability to coordinate with client technical management and architects
• Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and understanding of cloud architecture principles
• Strong background with large scale system deployments and staged system rollouts
• Ability to conduct technical discovery
