Job Description

Role Profile:

The SVP & President of Canada is responsible for the strategic, fiscal, and operational leadership of the Canadian business. The President will refine and execute a strategic and operational plan and will hold P&L responsibility for the Canadian business of RWC. This position provides the support and leadership necessary for all business functions and to support customer requirements, and leads, directs, and mentors staff to achieve these corporate objectives. The role sits on the Americas Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and will be an active contributor in identifying and driving growth for the broader Americas business

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage talent across the organization using key metrics, and assessments; execute a talent strategy in alignment with strategic plan.
  • Building the Canadian leadership, sales and operations team as the business grows and ensure that the organization is properly organized, staffed and directed. This includes guiding, motivating, developing, and building an organization that attracts and retains key talent.
  • Negotiate commercially sound and mutually beneficial distribution contracts and maintain strong working relations with distribution partners and key accounts.
  • Managing the financial, customer, internal business, and innovation activities, and implement cost controls and budgetary oversight to ensure that profitability and cash flow goals are achieved, ultimately positioning the Canadian business to attain its three-to-five-year growth objectives.
  • Routinely contacting and meeting with end users of our product to understand their needs and changes in the marketplace.
  • Building and retaining relationships with existing and new customers, driving a strategy that differentiates, builds customer loyalty, and positions Reliance for success versus its competitors.
  • Further develop and refine the Canadian growth markets and execute on product development, manufacturing, and distribution opportunities.
  • Direct organization's forecast and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiency.
  • Responsible for all aspects of employee safety within the RWC facility.
  • Leading the team by example and in a hands-on fashion and champion continuous improvement principles throughout the Canadian business. Maintain a sense of urgency and accountability in addressing all functions and asset utilization across the organization.

Summary of Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of leadership experience and full P&L experience. Manufacturer, plumbing, building products, and/or commercial development experience is a plus.
  • Decisive when critical business and talent decisions are required. Balances analysis with the need to act and execute.
  • Inclusive and empowering team leader who can attract, develop, and retain top talent
  • Exceptional customer service orientation.
  • Entrepreneurial attitude: self-motivated with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Ability to cultivate relationships up, down, and across the organization.
  • University degree in Business Management, Organizational Leadership, Engineering, or a related field. MBA an asset.
  • Demonstrated success in leading by influence and working effectively in a collaborative team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to blend strategic vision with tactical execution across the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and manage the work of others to achieve goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; clear, concise, and professional
  • Understanding of key business drivers and customers, building trust and credibility within the organization.

Working Conditions:

  • This position will be in an office and warehouse environment with up to 25% travel (domestic and international).
