Chatham-Kent Sexual Assault Crisis Centre (CKSACC) Job Posting: Support & Advocacy Worker/Public Education Coordinator (1 year maternity leave. Possible extension to 18 months) There are two job components in this fulltime position: Support & Advocacy Worker, and Public Education Coordinator. Grounded in the grass-roots anti-rape movement, the Chatham-Kent Sexual Assault Crisis Centre offers support, advocacy and information for women, female-identifying, Trans and non-binary persons 16 or older, who have experienced the impact of sexual assault/harassment/exploitation/abuse. CKSACC works to advance equality and eliminate sexualized/gender-based violence through public education and related activities. The successful candidate will be required to participate in the delivery of all CKSACC programs and services, as well as a rotating back-up schedule and should possess: - Feminist-based understanding of sexualized violence, including intersectionality; - Knowledge of systems and structures related to human rights, justice, health, social and community services; - Demonstrated ability to provide effective, crisis and ongoing support/counselling from a healing and trauma informed, anti-racist, anti-oppressive, intersectional feminist perspective; - Proven organizational and presentation skills including active listening and clear communication skills; - Familiarity with existing community resources and ability to work in respectful partnership with community committees and organizations; - Excellent software skills especially Microsoft Office, social media and graphics software; - Education derived from a combination of: related postsecondary education; studies in specialized programs; previous employment; lived experience; - Previous work experience in related area; - Access to reliable transportation; - Ability to participate in a rotating evening and weekend back-up schedule; Additional assets include: - Ability to speak French and/or a second language in addition to English; - Willingness to work outside regular business hours if required.
