Job Description

We are Scient Analytics. Based in Halifax, NS we’re a fast-growing tech company with an ecological focus on natural resource exploration. Our mission is to minimize the human footprint during natural resources exploration, development, and monitoring using non-invasive and non- destructive imagery techniques. We’re threading science, nature and technology together to better our human approach to resource exploration.

We’re excited for the expansion of our dedicated team of Scient(ists). We’re committed, passionate and in need of more hands and brains to help us achieve our vision. We are for sure, an early stage start up, which requires our team to be agile, nimble self-starters who work well to build and develop processes as we go. You must possess a keen skill to organize and assess priorities and opportunities to develop best practices in your field as the sole source expert. It is challenging but rewarding work.


THE ROLE: COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR


You are capable and creative storyteller that can craft and deliver the journey and advancement of the Scient mission. It is critical that you can communicate the Scient strategy and achievements to our diverse audience in a meaningful and impactful way, source effective Comms and PR mediums and platforms to maintain active engagement in our industry.

Key Responsibilities Include:

·Design, develop the Scient communications footprint effectively to our target audiences.

·Internal ‘go to’ for copy, editing, proofreading for articles, grants and presentations, reports and minutes.

·Create and execute marketing campaigns for events, special projects, new programming, monthly emails and more as needed.

·Write and distribute press releases website copy, brochures and press releases.

·Design and oversee a thoughtful social media strategy.

·Sleuth potential funding opportunities, appropriate contacts, teams, policies and projects based on Scient product portfolio.

·Create and oversee an internal documentation system to maintain version control and easy accessibility of all Scient related content.

·Support for the internal administration functions as required.

About YOU:

·A degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in Business administration, Public Relations, Commerce,

·Recent graduate with the ambition and focus to learn and grow.

·Experience with utilizing social media to disseminate information.

·Exceptional writing and interpersonal communication skills

·Proven track record of successfully working independently and as part of a team / group.

·Experience with Office 360; Word, Excel, Sharepoint and PowerPoint

·Excellent organizational skills, time management, and strong attention to detail

Basic Eligibility Requirements:

1. A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada

2. Between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive)

3. A Canadian post-secondary school graduate

4. Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial legislation and regulations
