Restorative Care, Education & Quality Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Establish (in collaboration with Nursing) the Quality Improvement Plan; submit improvement targets and initiatives;
• Co-Lead for the Health & Safety Committee;
• Mentor PSW’s with restorative programming both individual/group i.e. group exercises;
• Participate with the Falls Committee;
• Develop restorative programs and collaborate with OT/PT/PTA for the residents;
• Education Coordination – Onboarding process/Excellence Program/Safety Program/24-7/Surge/Table Talks
• Team Leader for Accreditation Program (every three years);
• Collaborate with the Director of Care for restorative program development;

Qualifications

• Preference with knowledge of community resources within the service area and able to relate to them in a professional manner;
• Commitment to ongoing education to meet resident’s needs/staffing needs and legislative requirements;
• Post-secondary diploma or Degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology or other related field from a community college or university;
• Experience in long term care in developing/ leading programs for residents with varied physical and cognitive abilities;
• Must have strong computer skills and knowledge with technology in programming for virtual or remote communications such as Zoom, Skype, Facetime, using different devices;
• Experience in Point of Care is considered an asset;
