Job Description


Nk’Mip Cellars is a successful joint venture partnering the Osoyoos Indian Band with Arterra Wines Canada. As North America’s first Indigenous owned and operated winery and winner of Intervin’s 2016 Canadian Winery of the Year, we feature premium, award winning BC VQA wines in the beautiful South Okanagan every day. THE OPPORTUNITY


As the Patio Supervisor, you will be working with the Food & Wine Manager to build and lead a team in delivering exceptional food and wine experiences that increase brand loyalty while driving sustainable profitability for our seasonal Patio Restaurant and events. Reporting directly to the Food & Wine Manager, you will work in partnership ensuring programs and initiatives are aligned with winery estate strategy.


Responsibilities


EXECUTE FOOD & WINE EXPERIENCES


  • Lead your service team in the execution of seasonal Patio Lunch service daily, private dinners and public winery events alongside our Food & Wine Manager
  • Work with Winery Chef and Sous Chef to ensure smooth execution of service, create and maintain excellent communication and positive working environment


STAFF MANAGEMENT


  • Maintain and enhance a strong “wine culture” and quality image
  • Work alongside service staff and provide leadership to the team
  • Execute training plans alongside Food & Wine Manager for all food and wine service staff to deliver consistent, exceptional guest dining experiences
  • Develop a fun, motivated and positive work environment


ADMINISTRATION MANAGEMENT


  • Assist with accounting for all onsite food & wine sales, inventory and purchases
  • Lead management of daily reservations procedures

Job Requirements


  • Ability to learn, use and teach Point of Sale programs effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to work in high pressure situations
  • Moderate to good understanding of business and accounting practices/inventory/cost controls
  • Must possess a passion for people and the food and wine industry
  • Preference for winery restaurant experience or fine dining
  • Excellent organizational, time management, interpersonal & communications skills
  • Ability to support and encourage co-workers through training
  • While is not a Full-Time year-round position, for the right candidate, it is an excellent stepping stone for growth and development within our company and move to full-time
  • 1-3 Years Previous restaurant and/or food service experience
  • Computer knowledge of WORD, Excel and Outlook Calendar Management an asset
  • Related training and/or College/University education an asset
  • WSET Certification an asset
