About the role:

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Analyst to join our finance team. In this position, you will play a key role in analyzing key strategic projects linked to operational excellence and asset management with the objective to achieve the full-potential of our operations. In this regard, you’ll be directly involved with the Operational excellence, Asset management teams and also with the project leads assigned to the different initiatives. You will play a key role in the evaluation of strategic projects.

In this role, you will be part of the Regional FP&A Finance team for Glencore's Copper division in North America and the Philippines, reporting to the FP&A Manager -Financial performance and analysis. The position will require occasional travel to our business units.

In this role, you will:

• Be a key member of the projects that are launched as part of the full-potential program and work closely with the project leads, operational excellence and asset management teams in supporting those projects as the main finance lead.
• Build, update and maintain unit costs structure per area per business units and the key operating drivers that impact the costs of those area in order to support financial analysis done through the organization.
• Be involved in any other financial analysis required by the organization.
• Perform full-potential projects financial assessment, establish financial target for the different initiatives proposed by the business units and measure financial performance of the initiatives that have been executed based on data collected and key financial drivers.
• Participate in the financial process of budgeting and assessing the value of our industrial assets.
• Use SAP to improve financial analysis processes and reporting.
• Support project leads and teams to complete the projects financial validations.
• Update/Maintain fix and variables costs and work in collaboration with the asset finance team in integrating those logics into financial processes.
• Get involved in fields reviews of projects assessed to better understand the project scope, inquire on the data collect process, measures, production impacts with the production areas, engineering, etc…
• Support the regional team of FP&A analysts in the analysis of capital investments and strategic initiatives for all aspects related to product margins and revenues.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including operation, operational excellence, asset management, projects, engineering.
• Perform return on investment and IRR evaluations on capital investment projects and support the project teams in the validation process.
• Work in collaboration with other FP&A analysts, finance teams to retrieve all relevant financial information to back up the financial evaluations supporting the projects.

Qualifications:

• 5 years experience as a financial analysis role in the mining or manufacturing sector.
• Have the willingness and curiosity to dive into operational processes and question pre-established data and parameters.
• Self-motivated, proactive, Value teamwork, cross-departmental collaboration and in developing working relationships.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timeline and expectations.
• Experience working in engineering, operation or as a project manager is an asset.
• Solid knowledge in doing financial analysis for projects, capital investment, operation initiatives.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g. CPA, CFA) is an asset.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide relevant information.

Language: Bilingal (French/English) is an asset
