We are currently looking for a Software Quality Test Engineer to join our busy and growing manufacturing company. GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY

Reporting directly to the Director of Product Development, the Software Quality Test Engineer will provide software quality assurance to the developers on usability and functionality of software as well as providing full planning of test procedures, and documenting all testing scenarios, standards, methods, and processes.

Key Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Conduct historical analyses of test results
• Document test procedures to ensure replicability and compliance with standards
• Design test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures
• Conduct software compatibility tests with programs, hardware, operating systems, or network environments
• Monitor program performance to ensure efficient and problem-free operations
• Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates
• Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers
• Develop or specify standards, methods, or procedures to determine product quality or release readiness
• Provide feedback and recommendations to developers on software usability and functionality
• All other duties as assigned
• Update automated test scripts to ensure accuracy

Skills and Qualifications:

• Good knowledge of App (iOS and Android) test automation
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Good knowledge of Python and other automation languages
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel
• Good understanding of firmware test systems
• Familiarity with electronic lab equipment such as meters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies considered an asset
• Familiarity with databases for test data push storage and data retrieval considered an asset
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Great team player and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision

Educational/Experience Requirements:

• Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test results
• Diploma in Software Quality Assurance/Test Engineering
• Strong experience writing test cases, testing, and documenting results for Windows Application software, web, and mobile applications
• Must have experience with firmware test on simulators and/or hardware
• 2 years of experience as a Software Quality Assurance Specialist
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
• Must have experience with test automation using Python Scripts
• Experience with regression, functional, and conformance testing
