TL/DR:

The Canada Social Media Specialist is responsible for planning, creating and publishing a range of content across top esports games that can be used in social media and digital marketing. Having experience in growing audiences and communities across social media platforms is critical as would a love of esports, particularly Valorant, CS:GO, League of Legends or Dota 2 is highly valued.

The right candidate will be mainly supporting the Social Media, Community, and Partnerships' marketing efforts in Ontario, with an emphasis on the local Toronto community.

This is a freelance role which will result in flexible part-time hours that will likely vary between 8 - 15 hours / per week and will be set at a rate of $25 CAD / per hour. This role may eventually evolve to a full-time role in the coming months.

The nitty-gritty:

• Use lessons learned to evaluate the success of the campaign and identify areas for improvement for future campaigns
• Gather, organize and manage media assets. Prepare video thumbnails, descriptions, and other associated metadata
• Collaborate, present ideas for creative content to be further developed, develop social media strategies with the aim of increasing brand loyalty and user engagement
• Provide design and video editing support: Edit photos and videos for Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and Discord and a range of other digital platforms with a creative flair appropriate to Rivalry's brand tone of voice
• Understand the user experience to ensure content is focused on maximizing engagement
• Capture in-person content during local Toronto events held in and around the region when relevant
• Write compelling copy for social media posts localized for regional needs
• Partner with the Senior Social Media Manager and team on content strategy, development and planning of day-to-day social media posts, video content and community management with an emphasis on our Discord and TikTok channels
• Ensure positive user sentiment and address community concerns across our Discord community
• Collaborate with the Creative team to ensure the brand integrity and consistency in all output

• Must know esports (Valorant, League of Legends, CS:GO, Dota) (Game, Teams & Tournaments)
• A strong eye for detail
• Creative thinker, articulate and persuasive, and able to communicate ideas
• Experience in growing social media pages, particularly on Discord, TikTok, Instagram and Twitter and in esports
• Experience in creating highly-engaging social media content
