Service Manager (Marine) – $75,000-$95,000 CAD + Benefits – Georgian Bay, Ontario
The Role
Are you a mechanically experienced and technically skilled leader with a passion for powerboating and marine atmospheres? Do you thrive in dynamic professional environments and have a knack for coordinating high-performance teams? Do you have strong leadership qualities, exceptional invoicing skills, a keen eye for efficiency, and a commitment to customer care and satisfaction?
We are a large, dynamic, customer-focused marina on the shores of southern Georgian Bay, who pride ourselves in being the very best marine service centre, period. We are seeking a Service Manager to guide our team to new levels of success. The right candidate will have an aptitude for leadership, exceptional language and communication skills, time management and organization skills, and the ability to manage the entirety of our service operations. This role requires someone capable of making decisive and effective decisions on job assignments, personnel management, performance review, client expectation and outcome management and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing departmental policies and procedures.
- Manage staff, scheduling, and allocation of technicians to repair orders.
- Recruit, hire, train and discipline departmental staff.
- Facilitate clear communication between customers and service technicians regarding problem diagnosis, repair recommendations, cost estimates, and completion dates.
- Administer training and education initiatives for department growth and development.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment throughout the marina.

The Person
- AMI, ABYC, NMEA, MRAA, CPYB, or similar certification is an asset.
- Extensive professional experience with Marine OEMs; including, but not limited to: Mercury Marine, Volvo-Penta, Caterpillar, Yanmar, Kohler, Raymarine, and Garmin.
- Proven service management experience in the Canadian marine industry/region.
- Possession of a valid G license.
- Superior customer service skills.
- Significant technical knowledge and experience in Canadian freshwater powerboating / cruising and sailing.
- Experience in administering OEM Warranty Claims and Marine Insurance Claims.
