The Opportunity

The SEO manager will be responsible for everything from strategic direction to tactical completion of work such as keyword research, site architecture recommendations, internal anchor text auditing, client management, & more. You’ll be working with businesses both small and large. This is an exciting opportunity to be among the first 20 employees at a startup agency with endless opportunities for growth. The SEO Manager will have a strong impact on revenue and overall growth for our clients.

What You’ll Do

• Lead biweekly and or monthly client meetings in regards to progress around SEO initiatives
• Provide high-level content recommendations to clients based on user intent of keywords
• Conduct keyword research for clients using tools such as AHREFs, AnswerThePublic, Google Keyword Planner, & more
• Research and create the best site architecture for clients based on their vertical; this will include reorganizing their current site architecture
• Set up rank tracking tools based on keyword research and mapping using tools such as getSTAT
• Be able to speak to technical SEO issues and provide colour to technical audits that are completed by other SEO’s
• Leverage GSC data to provide content recommendations based on keyword volume that isn’t seen in traditional keyword research tools
• Organize keywords into content hubs based on themes and user intent
• Leverage new site architecture and map keywords to pages based on current rankings and net new content
• Provide interlinking audit and recommendations between pages based on new site architecture
• Assist data science & content team by ideating research article topics that can help with link building via mass outreach utilizing 1st party data
• Analyze ranking increases and / or decreases and provide rationale with analysis

What You Bring

• Bonus if you have technical SEO skills but, at the minimum, can speak to all technical aspects of SEO and answer developer questions
• Experience with technical SEO tools such as ScreamingFrog
• Deep knowledge of Excel/Google sheets to combine data to find valuable SEO insights
• Experience with analytics platforms such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, getSTAT, & more
• 8+ years experience in SEO working with small and large companies
• Experience with rank tracking tools such as getSTAT
• Experience with keyword research tools such as AHREFs, Google Keyword Planner, AnswerThePublic, Google Search Console, & more
• Experience with on-page optimization tools such as SurferSEO
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, & Javascript as it pertains to SEO
