• Provides coaching and direction to junior analysts throughout the project, related to the development and/or acquisition of a diverse range of client applications through all stages of the Systems Development Life Cycle
• Demonstrated experience designing and developing complex applications utilizing relational and multi-dimensional databases
• Requirement to travel throughout Ontario upon request for hardware/server deployment, installation, warranty service, and other on-site requirements
• Recommends and directs the measurement and improvement of tools, techniques, standards, and performance criteria to control the quality of application development initiatives
• Provides specialized technical expertise in the overall analysis of the design and architecture of solutions and associated tools
• Demonstrated experience gathering requirements, translating business documents into technical specifications
• Leads the development of testing, integration, and implementation of network solutions into the clients’ applications
• Leads new infrastructure refresh/migration projects including requirements gathering and options analysis in both datacentres and cloud platforms
• Oversees the research and evaluation of the technical components in the acquisition of software, hardware, technology, systems, and products
• Ability to provide implementation and post implementation support as required
• Demonstrated experience in orchestration/scripting/automation technologies
• Demonstrates knowledge of virtualization technology (VMWare/Citrix), LAN/WAN technologies, facility design standards, interpret network diagrams, and systems diagrams
• Leads the technical aspects of projects related to the development and/or acquisition of a diverse range of network applications through all stages of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This includes planning, scheduling, and estimating resources, providing technical expertise, co-ordination, monitoring progress and providing management with project status updates
• Leads the analysis, development and documentation of design and architecture of systems solutions.
• Experience in Agile/DevOps/Lean IT methodologies
• Demonstrated experience in vulnerability and patch management for infrastructure in multiple locations including operating system, software, firmware and configuration management.

Experience and Skill Set Requirements

Core Skills

• Windows Active Directory
• VMWare (or equivalent virtualization technology) design, implementation and migration experience including the associated vSphere suite of tools.
• Configuration management of devices using automation tools and API scripting with Python
• OS/Tools Skills:
• DNS (Infoblox or similar)
• Citrix Zen Desktop (or equivalent virtualization technology) design, implementation and migration experience
• ELK stack
• IPv6 experience
• VMware ESXi networking, vDS, clustering and high availability in virtualized environments
• Fluent with both Windows, Windows Server Clustering and Virtualization Administration
• Strong experience in managing remote desktops across multiple locations including system support, patching and vulnerability
• Ansible Tower
• Netbox
• Docker Containers

Technical Skills

• Recent experience in hardware installation/removal in remote locations
• Quest Kace suite of management software or similar tools
• Strong knowledge in IP communications, routing and firewalling including Cisco and Palo Alto Foritnet technologies
• Experience with the projects related to 24x7 critical environments and operations
• Azure Administrator Associate Certification or equivalent
• Cisco HyperFlex, implementation and support
• Monitoring / Alerting experience utilizing tools such as PRTG

Communication and Analytical Skills

• Able to conduct research into issues and products as required
• Experience in Agile/DevOps/Lean IT methodologies
• Able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Ability work in agile dynamic environment
• Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
• Related degree in computer science or electrical engineering and/or seven to ten years equivalent experience
• Strong customer service orientation with proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with the ability to work well in a collaborative environment
