Peoplesoft Payroll Business Analyst

Our Toronto client is need of a PeopleSoft Payroll Business Analyst for a permanent position.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Peoplesoft Payroll Business Analyst to join our team. As an Intermediate-level Business Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting business requirements related to payroll processes and translating them into functional specifications for the Peoplesoft Payroll system. Your expertise in Peoplesoft Payroll and payroll domain knowledge will play a critical role in optimizing payroll processes, ensuring data accuracy, and supporting our organization's overall HR and payroll strategies. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, Finance, and IT, to deliver solutions that enhance payroll efficiency and compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and challenges and propose effective solutions that align with business objectives.
• Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications and technical documentation for system configuration and development teams.
• Assist with data analysis, data mapping, and data validation to ensure data integrity and accuracy between various HR and finance systems.
• Participate in project planning, status reporting, and communication to keep stakeholders informed about project progress and potential issues.
• Conduct in-depth testing, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing, to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the Payroll system.
• Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and technology advancements related to payroll and HR domains.
• Provide end-user support, training, and documentation to ensure smooth adoption of new system features and processes.
• Gather and analyze business requirements related to payroll processes, including payroll calculations, deductions, benefits, and tax regulations.
• Conduct post-implementation reviews to gather feedback and identify areas for further improvement.
• Collaborate with the IT team to perform system enhancements, upgrades, and patches, ensuring continuous improvement and compliance with regulatory changes.
• Identify and resolve system issues and discrepancies in a timely manner to minimize disruptions to payroll operations.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools is a plus.
• 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a focus on Peoplesoft Payroll systems and processes.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience in conducting various types of testing (unit, integration, user acceptance) and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Detail-oriented and analytical mindset, with a focus on problem-solving and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
• Familiarity with HR and Payroll data structures and relational databases.
• Proficiency in analyzing complex business requirements and translating them into functional specifications.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Strong understanding of payroll principles, taxation, benefits administration, and regulatory compliance.
