• Develop unique approaches and act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders for making business decisions and implementing strategic initiatives
• Contribute to assessments of human resource policies, processes and programs
• Build, maintain and strengthen relationships with Indigenous communities and Indigenous-led organizations, while supporting the development and execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and best practices
• Identify emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making through strong partnerships with the People and Culture department.
• Establish yourself internally, as a trusted Reconciliation advisor and a known collaborative, creative, problem-solver
• Utilize employment data analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues
• Ensure effective implementation of multi-year Indigenous Employment Strategy (including effective governance, tactic execution, operating framework, Indigenous inclusion tools and processes) to deliver on business goals

Qualifications

You’re the missing piece of the puzzle:

• Excellent written communication skills coupled with the ability to write or edit high quality business documents.
• Ability to break down strategic problems and analyze data and information to provide Indigenous talent management insights and recommendations; may include analysis on workforce plans & forecasts including talent pool gaps and Indigenous inclusion
• Support change management programs of varying scope and type, including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management and sustainment of initiatives
• Making ability.
• Experience executing on Indigenous employment strategies/projects or Diversity, Equity and Inclusion related employment strategies
• Through strong partnerships with People and Culture, consult on the effective enhancements of internal talent management principles, process and tools
• Excellent oral communication skills, facilitation skills, conflict resolution skills, public speaking ability, and active listening skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills along with the ability to prioritize tasks and effective decision
• Provide necessary influence and negotiation practices to achieve business objectives.

Great to haves:

• Experience with the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business’ Progressive Aboriginal Relations (PAR) Program
• 6+ years of relevant experience
• Post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preference will be given to Indigenous applicants
