The TELUS Business Solutions product team is a dynamic, high-performance team that brings innovative new solution capabilities to market for Small, Mid-Market and Enterprise customers nationally.
In partnership with the TELUS Business Solutions team members and our partners across the broader organization (TELUS Consumer, International, Health & Agriculture), the Industry Solutions & Data Applications product strategy team leverages best practices, collaboration, and thought leadership to drive the development and execution of the multi-year product planning, integrated services roadmap and identify incremental opportunity areas to support the next wave of growth with a laser focus on improving organizational effectiveness.
Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together
As a Senior Strategy Manager you support Industry Solutions & Data Applications to decide on the optimal solutions portfolio across cloud, data, applications and IoT services to meet the evolving technology needs of our business customers. The team is investigating potential opportunities for future profitable growth, typically 3-5 years out and you have the opportunity to collaborate on various projects, including annual strategic planning, competitive market reviews and business case evaluations. The team is at the center of various product level decision making activities for TELUS Business Solutions and you play a vital role in providing strategic thinking as well as the responsibility to execute on plan.
Here’s How
  • Tactical analysis. In our fast changing business, you will be required to deep dive into a new area, learn its complexities, present your analysis and insight to the leadership team and execute on plan – all within tight timelines
  • Build and implement a comprehensive product roadmap. Which includes accelerating select products, ideation or new product opportunities, profitability improvement and analysis for deselecting redundant products groups
  • Stay informed about customer needs and evolving market trends. Constantly monitor and analyze key market and competitive activity to provide insights on the impact to our business and opportunities for us to grow
  • Lead the development of an integrated product strategy. Interview internal product development teams, sales teams and external industry experts to obtain information and perspectives on product development and emerging opportunities. Develop business cases and make recommendations to the leadership team for optimal capital allocation
  • Performance measurement and update on progress. Establish a performance management framework that aligns metrics/KPIs to our broader medium to long term strategy. Update the leadership team on product team performance, roadblocks, and suggestive improvements
Qualifications

  • Outstanding communication and collaboration. The team is constantly in conversation with key organizational stakeholders and leaders , you are expected to have excellent presentation skills, confidence in your analysis and open minded approach to influence decision making
  • Financial acumen to support business case development. Support Industry Solutions & Data Applications in selecting the investment decisions to products and services lunch (partner, venturer or acquire)
  • A passion for learning and innovation. Leverage market research, networking and strategic thinking. You enjoy digging into research data, reaching out to industry experts and peers across the broader organization, obtaining the voice of the customer and suggesting better ways of doing business
  • Ability to interact and translate into simple language complex concepts to senior leaders. You are able to look at a problem from 20,000 feet and see its macro impact and at the same time be able to dig into detailed data to develop your understanding at a micro level
  • A curious and tenacious nature. You are a self-starter motivated by learning something new every day and call-out what does not add up (question status quo)
Great to haves
  • University degree
  • Strong organizational skills, with ability to effectively prioritize to meet deadlines
  • 7-10 years of equivalent experience in product management strategy
  • Broad knowledge of IT and telecommunication industry
  • Demonstrate very strong knowledge of business analytics
  • Influence and negotiation skills
  • Consulting skills and reporting/presentation
  • Bilingual (English and French) preferred
