Trevor Frances Recruitment is currently seeking an ambitious, results-oriented Senior HR Generalist to join our clientsgrowing team in the steel fabrication and welding industry. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective delivery of daily HR operations and the alignment of employees with the organization's strategic goals.
Responsibilities:
- Handle additional tasks and special projects as assigned.
- Review policies and programs to ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
- Communicate and update the organizational chart as needed.
- Investigate and resolve employee relations matters to maintain a harmonious workplace.
- Prepare KPI reports to support business decision-making.
- Monitor and make recommendations to enhance productivity within the organization.
- Advise managers and employees on the application of policies, HR programs, and employment laws, fostering a positive work environment.
- Manage the entire recruitment process, including creating job descriptions, posting job ads, screening applicants, conducting interviews, and preparing offer letters.
- Support HR programs, such as onboarding, salary administration, and time and attendance management.
- Provide guidance and support to management on performance management, including coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions.
- Stay informed about trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in the field.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR functions.
- Maintain accurate employee records, both in paper and electronic formats.
Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence at all organizational levels.
- CHRP designation is an asset.
- Union Experience
- JHSC Certification is an asset.
- Strong problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.
- University degree or college diploma in a relevant discipline.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Human Resources.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge and understanding of employment legislation and best practices (OHSA, ESA, AODA, and Human Rights Code).
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives with overlapping tasks.
