Senior Business Intelligence - Canada

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director, Data & Analytics the Senior Business Intelligence will be responsible for the following duties, and complete special initiatives and projects as assigned.

• Leverage business and statistical knowledge to transform data into information
• Lead and/or partner with clients in planning, designing, implementing, optimizing, administering, and evaluating BI solutions, including big data solutions, open data, queries, reports, dashboards, and other visualizations based on stakeholders needs

Design and develop BI dashboards and reports based on business requirements

Elicit, document, and confirm business requirements and technical specifications.

Participate in the design and enhancement of data marts and data warehouse.

Define and evaluate conceptual, logical, and physical BI solution architectures.

Perform data quality assessments, data transformation, and data cleansing

Develop SQL Scripts/Procs/ETL flows to support reports, dashboards, and KPIs in SSRS, Cognos, and Power BI.

Create, support, and enhance SSAS OLAP cubes and MDX/DAX scripts.

Develop test scripts and perform testing of BI solutions to ensure seamless transition to production environment.

Proactively seek relevant technology enhancements to current and future BI and Reporting initiatives. Requirements:

Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, Mathematics or related field from an accredited college or university.

5+ years' experience in design, development, and modeling of data warehouses.

5+ years' demonstrable experience working with BI tools like SSRS, Microsoft Power BI or IBM Cognos (Cognos Dashboards, Report Studio, Cubes, Framework Manager), Tableau etc.

5+ years' experience in creating ETL packages in SSIS, ADF or IBM DataStage.

5+ years' developing solutions using standard RDBMS, No-SQL, Azure, semi-structured data sources such as MongoDB, Dyanmo DB, Redis, JSON, etc.

Expert-level T-SQL query development.

Demonstrated clear and effective professional communication skills, both written and verbal.

Outstanding attention to detail, and the ability to uphold high quality control standards.

Experienced in estimating complexity, time, and effort, planning, and worked closely with Project Managers to successfully meet requirements and timelines

Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with Business Intelligence stakeholders

Demonstrable organizational, analytical, and innovative thinking skill.

Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, prioritization, and follow-up skills, with a strong commitment to being a team player and meeting the client's needs

Strong time management skills (ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks and projects)
