Senior Business Analyst Jobs

LeverageTek is actively seeking a Senior Business Analyst for a 1 Year Term position with its Ottawa-based customer.

Work Location

The successful candidate will be required to work 1 day/week on-site at the customer headquarters in Ottawa, ON.

Security Requirement

Must be eligible for a Government of Canada Enhanced Reliability Clearance.

Key Tasks

• Under the direction of the Project Management Office (PMO), the Senior Business Analyst develops, prepares, and documents solutions, such as business objectives, requirements, and statements of work
• The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for the identification of assumptions, alternatives, and transition issues for projects, as well as identification and documentation of business or legislative constraints. in addition, they will be responsible for redesign of business processes, as required
• They participate in the development and implementation of projects and liaises with stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to research and evaluate business and technical requirements
• This is an expert role, working with a team, where you will exercise your knowledge and skills daily. If you are passionate about technology and want to be part of a team who is becoming the orchestrator of digital innovation, this is the opportunity for you.
• Finally, they will be responsible for reviewing usability of applications prior to development, and present mock-ups to stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
• They prepare and present feasibility studies, prototypes, business cases and cost benefit analysis for projects
• They participate in project status meetings, liaising with colleagues to develop systems designs, project plans, and functional specifications, liaising with Quality team to develop testing plans, acceptance plans and to ensure requirement traceability, and liaising with Systems/Network team to develop technical specifications

Key Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as Business Analysis, including conducting Stakeholder interviews and workshops, developing presentations, elicitation, validation, documentation, and traceability of requirements, managing requirements, requirements change control, and scope control, using requirements management tools, such as Azure DevOps
• College diploma or certificate in Business Administration, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field, and several years of experience in an IM/IT related field
• Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification

Qualifications

Demonstrated expertise in the following areas:

• In analysis and visual representation of As-Is and To-Be process models, and business process standardization/improvement
• In developing test plans including functional, end to end, and acceptance testing
• Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork, and leadership
• In transformation of complex technical concepts into formats more easily understood by non-technical (business) audiences
• In managing and coordinating user testing, and presenting test findings
• In establishing acceptance test criteria with client, developing use test cases
