Acumatica is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join our Service Management team in Montreal or Ottawa, Canada.


As a Senior Business Analyst on our Service Management Engineering team, you will be responsible for representing customer business needs, and translating them into technical specifications.


Position Responsibilities:                                                                                  


  • Perform system analysis and design functional specifications for the product features and enhancements. This will include business process diagrams, entity relationship diagrams and functional design specifications.
  • Analyze support cases and defects, design solutions, verify defect fixes.
  • Perform user acceptance testing and usability testing.
  • Serve as product functional expert: share your product knowledge with the support team, implementation team and other teams on how to use features, communicate knowledge to partners and clients (technical documentation, training sessions, demo).
  • Assist and/or perform tasks related to product releases.
  • Guide QA engineers on quality testing, advise on the design of test scenarios and review test specifications.
  • Demonstrate features and enhancements being developed, manage feedback.
  • Work closely with UX designers, software developers and QA engineers during programming, debugging, and testing of new and enhanced functionality.
  • Work closely with documentation and education specialists in producing necessary user facing communications on new features and resolved issues.
  • Engage with partners and users to gather feedback, analyze, define, model and document business processes and requirements to create necessary specifications.
  • Work with other product area functional teams where business requirements require collaboration or dependency of deliverables between the teams.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers. Help define and groom the product backlog.
  • Communicate what’s needed to be done to software developers in technical specification.


Skills and Experience Requirements:


  • Effective communication skills, good listener, and ability to lead discussions.
  • System thinking and ability to manage complexity at different levels.
  • Ability to work as part of a team or independently.
  • Possess critical thinking, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • 5+ years’ experience in software development, specific to the field service management industry.
  • Ability to conduct meetings with partners and customers to gather information and feedback.
  • Attention to details.
  • Ability to express thoughts clearly, strong technical writing and technical communication skills.
  • 5+ years professional experience in software design principles, software engineering processes and software specification development.
  • Experience using tools like JIRA and Lucidchart.
  • Technical education or previous experience in SQL, programming methodologies, application development, or system analysis preferred.
