Job Description

The Team Leader of Walmart & Sales Planning is a key member of the Sales Leadership Team at Beiersdorf. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the growth agenda and executing effective strategies to facilitate profitable sales growth at Walmart. The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset and passion to drive transformational growth in our largest retail channel. In this hybrid role the candidate will also lead the Sales Planning department with a strong focus on accuracy and financial KPIs. Thought leadership and an ability to be data driven will be keys to success. You will be responsible for developing and retaining sales talent, as well as developing strong cross-functional relationships with Shopper and Customer Marketing, Brand Marketing, Controlling, Finance, and Supply Chain.


  • Manage senior level relationships with our retail partners in partnership with the Senior Director of Walmart
  • Successfully manage and develop team structure that includes several non-direct reports (Sales Controlling/Supply Chain/Replenishment)
  • Ensure controls are maintained to spend within budget on trade, promotions, and shopper marketing programs
  • Be a subject matter expert and advocate for Walmart key initiatives within Beiersdorf
  • Deliver top line and bottom-line growth objectives while achieving brand share gains
  • Lead the Walmart Canada sales team and the development and implementation of strategic business plans across the Walmart merchandising team
  • Lead customer JBP and innovation summits across multiple departments to provide feedback on new item concepts and account opportunities for growth
  • Ensure delivery of sales and KPI scorecard metrics for Beiersdorf in Walmart stores


SALES PLANNING RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Help coordinate all S&OP Pre-Read information in partnership with Finance to help prepare and educate the audience prior to the actual S&OP meeting
  • Provide Sales support and information to supply chain controlling and other activities to improve upon key KPIs such as DIH, Waste, Service Levels, and Assortment Performance
  • Incorporate key stakeholders from Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain into the S&OP Process to achieve a full year consensus forecast on a monthly basis
  • Highlight to key stakeholders’ issues in current and future forecasted performance versus target so actions can be initiated
  • Support other Sales related activities in alignment with corporate objectives to drive sales and profits
  • Take the initiative to identify, lead, and establish continuous improvement practices that improve S&OP, supply chain, overdues and company performance
  • Prepare/Coordinate Monthly Commercial Review Presentation across all Retailer with commentary on major business drivers
  • Own the Promo and Launch/Relaunch processes to ensure proper customer alignment (timing, quantities)


REQUIREMENTS

  • Project management experience with high visibility to leadership and proven track record of meeting deadlines
  • Experience in and proven track record of thriving in fast-paced environment with ambiguity
  • Must have high level analytical skills and business acumen to build strong business cases for change
  • Leadership experiences with proven track record of developing high performing teams
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills to influence and secure cross-functional support; at all levels in the organization
  • Proven experience in managing and building teams, develop strong relationships across functions and ability to influence key decision makers
  • Experience in Customer Packaged Goods Industry
  • Proven ability to think strategically leveraging data sources like Nielsen and increase effectiveness at achieving overall strategies in a highly collaborative environment
  • BS/BA required, MBA or master’s degree preferred
  • 10+ years of CPG Sales, Trade Marketing, Sales Strategy, or similar discipline experience
  • Must be tech savvy and have strong office productivity software skills (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, SAP) to use promotion databases, financial reporting, and promotional analysis
