Job Description

Magnet is helping our client, a leading CPG organization in the Food & Beverage space, look for a Sales Team Lead to join their team and work out of a GTA Based office (Hybrid).


In this role, you will be responsible for managing two direct reports & be tasked to produce extraordinary results in developing superior business relationships, building trusted advisor status in the key areas of focus, achieving assigned volume and delivering profit targets. In addition this role is responsible for selling category business plans that create a compelling growth vision for our customers which in turn will drive category share.


Responsibilities:


Customer Development

  • Penetrates account to reach key decision makers; building joint customer business plans to improve utilization of company programs
  • Monitors business results versus plan and adjusts accordingly
  • Mediates and “sells” trade promotions and customer performance criteria, ensuring profitability
  • Impacts base and incremental volume through maximizing promotional mix
  • Achieves brand share gains at account greater than or equal to market/customer growth.
  • Provides category priorities to multi-functional resources, such as Territory Development Managers and other retail resources

Category Management/Business Planning

  • Influences account decision makers to achieve share growth equal to or greater than account/market in Distribution, Shelf, Merchandising and Pricing
  • Execute new item objectives through expedient shelf placement, timely order processes and retail placement follow through
  • Leads the customer in the execution/application of category assessments, business planning, scorecard development/tracking and plan evaluations

Financial Management

  • Initiates joint customer planning to create and develop account specific promotions.
  • Plans and evaluates potential cost of promotion prior to implementation
  • Adheres to pay for performance policy and assigned budget
  • Updates the appropriate financial management systems indicating: Spent, Committed, Actual balances; manages and communicates balances and opportunities

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • 5-7 years of retail food industry or consumer packaged goods sales experience
  • Ability to “think on one’s feet” and make decisions independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Focused on value-added selling
