We are seeking a Dock Team Lead at our Hope, BC location.

Compensation Package:

• Sign On Bonus: $500.00 payable after 60 days of employment
• Pay: $29.07 / hour – contract through Sept. with possibility of converting to FT.
• Night Shift Premium: $0.75 / hour
• Completion Bonus: $1000.00

Schedule

• Rotating 12 hour continental shift schedule; 4 on, 4 off.

Major Responsibilities:

• Prepare and distribute shipment documentation
• Interface with Planning and Customer Support
• Communicate issues to the Warehouse Manager and Customer Support as they occur. Seek resolutions to ensure customer satisfaction
• Manage the dock planning & utilization including planning & coordinating line loading activity
• Handle pick tickets, BOL’s and receive returns
• Active participant in TPM activities including active participating in the dock SHO
• Assign trailer loading to material handlers, follow up to ensure timely departure to meet customer delivery appointments
• Other duties as assigned
• Control gate entry / exit while maintaining yard security, and interfacing with drivers
• Support Material Handler and Team Lead as required. Operate a forklift when necessary
• Monitor the trailer pool (yard check)

Qualifications

• Ability to commute/relocate to Hope, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work
• Demonstrated communication skills that show ability to gain co-operation and understanding from warehousing personnel as well as internal and external customers to the shipping department
• Legally eligible to work in Canada
• Ability to work overtime hours and weekends
• Must not have had either performance, attendance or safety infraction within last 12 months
• Demonstrated ability to support the above verbal communications requirements with effective written communications
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a warehousing and/or manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of team KPI’s
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products (can create, retrieve, and input into systems). Proficiency in data entry
• Demonstrated multitasking skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
